Vancouver, WA (June 2017) – The Columbian has entered into a Content Licensing and Co-Marketing Agreement with Scorebook Live, Inc. with the intent of providing area high schools with an elevated level of coverage. By using the Scorebook Live mobile scoring apps, high school’s can significantly enhance their ability to create, publish and deliver their content to passionate fans inside the Southwest Washington market and beyond.
“I see Scorebook Live benefiting athletes, coaches and the sports media who cover their teams. It will provide accurate and timely statistics to help in our game coverage. That, in turn, frees up reporters to shoot more video, take photos and delve into deeper storylines,” says The Columbian Sports Editor Micah Rice. “The Columbian sports department is committed to using and promoting Scorebook Live as a primary means of gathering statistics and game details for use in our coverage of high school sports. We hope all athletic departments in Southwest Washington see the benefits in using this program.”
Scorebook Live will work collaboratively with The Columbian to provide fans with “live” scoreboards, schedules, league standings, and other exciting content that will be available at http://www.columbian.com/ and https://www.scorebooklive.com. Varsity football and basketball teams using the Scorebook Live scoring apps will have their game updates and scores electronically delivered to The Columbian, thus eliminating the time consuming process of having coaches “call in” scores and fans being forced to wait until the games are over to check the results.
“The agreement with The Columbian allows us to expand our footprint into the Southwest Washington sports market, and provide a product that mutually benefits high school programs as well as their local media partners. We are confident that our real-time scoring and content delivery technology, that is supported by any Internet connected device, will engage fans throughout the season,” says Scorebook Live Founder & CEO Dan Beach. “In this digital age, it is vital that fans should have access to high quality and timely coverage of high school sports in their region, and we are very excited to be taking this step with The Columbian for this upcoming season.”
