Frank Says: The Lions eked out a one-point victory in early January. The Narbonne Gauchos have a lost a bunch of “close” games this season, notably the two OT affairs with Taft, the loss to Fairfax and the two-point defeat to top seed Birmingham.


This Season: 24-7/Marine League co-champion

Coach: Anthony Hilliard

Vs. The Field: 4-6 (won three of four with Washington; Dorsey, 64-59; lost to Birmingham, 69-67, in Pac Shores semifinal; lost to Taft, twice, 61-58 OT, and 72-68, OT; Fairfax 57-56)

Seniors To Watch: Six-three Psalm Maduakor almost assuredly will sign with a program in the spring.


This Season: 25-4/Western League champion

Coach: Steve Baik

Vs. The Field: 4-1 (beat Westchester twice, 60-57 and 56-53; Narbonne, 57-56 and El Camino Real, 67-53; lost to Westchester, 66-59)

Seniors To Watch: None


Follow Taft vs. El Camino Real

Frank Says: This is the third meeting between the West Valley League teams. The winners of the consolation semifinals play Thursday night with the highest remaining seed being the host.


This Season: 20-13/West Valley League runner-up

Coach: Joe Wyatt

Vs. The Field: 1-6 (beat Washington, 77-59; lost to Birmingham twice, 86-73 and 88-73; Taft twice, 51-44 and 71-60; Washington, 51-40 and Fairfax, 67-53)

Seniors To Watch: Troy Bigelow will be evaluated by college coaches in the spring as well as the rest of this season.


This Season: 23-10/West Valley League runner-up

Coach: Derrick Taylor

Vs. The Field: 4-4 (beat El Camino Real twice, 51-44 and 77-60; Washington Prep, 68-63 and Narbonne, 72-68 OT; lost to Birmingham four times, 87-61, 97-90 OT, 116-81, and 80-73; Narbonne, 61-58, 2OT)
