Santa Margarita Survives Buzzer Beater, Hangs On to Beat Centennial, 52-51



IN A NUTSHELL: The Eagles fell behind by 13 points late in the second quarter but then took control with a superb third quarter in which they outscored the Huskies by 12 points. Gio Nelson’s jumper at the buzzer was ruled to have come with a toe on the 3-point line, preventing the Huskies from sending the game into OT.

TURNING POINT:  Kadeen Rasheed (10), Jake Kyman (7) and Pearson Parker (5) combined for 22 of Santa Margarita’s 24 third-quarter points

RESPECTIVE STANDOUTS: SM – Rasheed scored all 15 of his points in the second half. C –  UCLA-bound Jalen Hill scored 12 points with 12 rebounds and three blocked shots.
