Maranatha Surges to Take Down Anthony Hunter and Durango



IN A NUTSHELL: Behind the play of senior guard Sean Espinoza, Maranatha built as 12-point advantage with a bit more than four minutes to go in regulation then was able to hold on down the stretch for the victory.

TURNING POINT:  Durango cut its deficit to three points and seemingly had a point-blank layup attempt by Jeremie Portunondo but it was blocked by Jessie Elrod with 1:21 to go.

RESPECTIVE STANDOUTS: M – Espinoza scored a game-high 25 points, 17 of those coming in the first and third periods. D – Freshman guard Anthony Hunter led a terrific rally in the fourth quarter with nine of 16 points.
